Learn more about acupuncture and how it can help you.

Did you know?

  • It isn't new: Acupuncture originated in China over 5,000 years ago. It is said to have been discovered through warfare with bows and arrows!
  • New research is constantly being done: The World Health Organization has studied acupuncture's effects on conditions ranging from allergies to obesity to PMS.
  • Stressbuster: Most people say that they feel very relaxed during an acupuncture treatment. Who would have thought needles could be relaxing?

Why should you try acupuncture?

Because you're curious. Because you don't feel good and all of your doctors tell you there's nothing wrong with you. Because you've heard it works.

And it does. There's a good reason why the age-old Eastern practice of acupuncture is now becoming popular in the West.

It's Good For More Than Just Pain

You've probably heard that acupuncture works wonders for pain. In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes that acupuncture has proven effective in the treatment of pain of the back, neck, knee, and headaches.

But it doesn't stop there. The WHO also says that acupuncture has been proven effective in treating allergic rhinitis, depression, painful menstruation, essential hypertension, nausea and vomiting, sciatica, tennis elbow, and many more.

It's Safe

We use only sterile, disposable needles that are discarded immediately after use.

Acupuncture is absolutely safe to use in conjunction with any other treatments or medications. Not only is it safe, but it can supplement your other treatments as well!

It's Natural

There are different explanations as to why acupuncture works. Western medicine says that acupuncture works by telling the brain to produce more of the body's natural painkillers.

Chinese medicine views all ailments as an imbalance of your body's energy, or Qi (pronounced "chee"), and so the healing process is a gradual re-balancing of this energy.
It Feels Like a Mosquito Bite

If you've ever gotten a shot at the doctor's office, or donated blood, then acupuncture is nothing. It is said that seven acupuncture needles can fit into the tip of a syringe. The needles are hair-thin!

Some patients say that at first, it feels like a mosquito bite. During treatment, you may feel numbness, tingling, and/or distension. These are all normal sensations of the needles stimulating the flow of Qi!

We Care About You

Your acupuncturist will spend a good deal of time asking you how you feel. We need to know your entire state of being before we begin treatment. This means your physical state, as well as your mental and emotional state.

We are here to help you take control of your health. Acupuncture will help balance out your body. It will take time. Be patient, you're worth it.
